Food For Thought(Questions about the "L"

An emotion so strong
And so bold….
What compels us to feel this?
Butterflies in the pit of your stomach
Heart racing
Clammy hands
Mind whirling
Not knowing what to say
Thinking about just one person constantly
Is it lust?
Is it obsession?
Is it an infatuation?
Or is it the real thing?
How do we know?
What’s love, what’s lust?
If we can picture ourselves with one person
Does that mean we love them?
Or we want to love them?
If they are what we always dreamed of
Does that mean they are “the one?”
If everyone has a soul mate
Why are we able to “love” others?
(I'm not talking about family either)
If there is but 1 for each of us
Shouldn’t we only be capable of loving that 1 person?
Why do abusive people use love as an excuse to abuse?
Would you abuse the one you love?
Why does everyone get so worked up about love?
Most of the feelings that go with the emotion are uncomfortable…..
The butterflies that keep you from eating and make you feel sick
The clammy hands you want to hide in your pockets
The racing heart you know everyone can hear
The awkward conversations
The whirling thoughts
The obsession you seem to have with that person
Why do we get so excited when we feel this?
Why cant love be a certainty
When you tell someone you love them
Why can’t you know that they won’t hurt you?
When you say I love you, the person you say it to should become incapable of:
Cheating
Abuse (mental, emotional, or physical)
Lying
And looking at others of the opposite sex
Why is love the best feeling in the world when there’s all this stuff to think about? I’m not even going into love and parenting, or why relationships don’t work out when people confuse love with lust. You all know how that feels so I’ll just leave it at that. I’m not attacking love, I think it is a truly amazing emotion and these are just some questions that I ask myself.
